Punjab University has Reduced Minimum Marks Required for Entrance in Ph.D

Punjab University had reduced minimum marks required for the entrance in Ph.D. for reserved category. Punjab’s Technical education minister Charanjeet Singh Channi’s dream was to do Ph.D.. Hence Punjab University has reduced the minimum marks required for entrance in Ph.D. for reserved candidates. Reserved category candidates now require only 40 marks for entrance.

Earlier the minimum marks required for entrance in Ph.D. were 50 and Charanjeet Singh Channi was unable to score 50 marks. Due to insufficient marks, his dream of doing Ph.D. was shattered.

In the syndicate meeting of Punjab University held on 24th Sep 2017 the members of meeting put up a proposal. The proposal was to reduce the minimum marks required for entrance in Ph.D. for reserved candidates.

The syndicate meeting accepted the proposal and reduced the minimum marks for entrance in Ph.D. for reserved candidates. Due to reduction in entrance marks now Charanjeet Singh Channi is now eligible to take admission in Ph.D.
